The purpose of Blackjack is to have
one hold value hand closer to 21 than
the dealer,but without exceeding the 21. Before
playing you will have to place your bet, once the bet is done the
dealer will give you 2 cards, you can STAND, HIT, DOUBLE the bet or SPLIT.
The value of each
card is the following:
▪ Cards from 2 to 9 worth their numerical value;
▪ 10s, Jacks, Queens and Kings worth 10;
▪The
Ace can value 11 or 1, depending of the value of the other cards in
the hand. It always assumes the value that will give the best hand.
The hand value is
just the addiction of the value of all cards. For example, assuming
that you have a 10, 5 and 6 you will have a perfect 21 hand! But if
you have a 10, 9 and Ace, your ace will assume a 1 value because
that way will give you the best hand possible.
Blackjack Strategies:
▪ Never hit a hand higher than 17;
▪ Never stand on a hand less than
11;
▪ Never split 4s, 5s, and face
cards;
▪ Always split Aces and 8;
▪ Always assume that the hidden
card of the dealer is a 10, is the worse possible scene;
▪ Give strong consideration to
doubling down in all situations where you have 10 or 11;
▪ It is rarely correct to stand on
a total of soft 17;
▪ Always stand on hard 17 or
higher if the dealer's showing card is 7 or lower.
